The Hinderton Arms, Neston

For this Sunday meal out we chose a place with no football on so it’d be a little quieter. Luckily the sun was out too so all the dogs came along and all seven of us got to sit outside. Now the Hinderton has always been in an odd location, next to a petrol station on the corner of a busy junction, but I don’t recall ever having a bad meal here. I never even noticed it was part of the ‘Chef and Brewer Collection’ until this visit.

The outdoor area is lovely and you cannot hear the traffic

We grabbed a large bench outside and our lovely waiter brought out the menus and took drinks orders. We don’t usually do Sunday lunch so I’d already decided I was going to take the opportunity to order a huge roast dinner so choosing was easy for me. I went for a traditional Turkey breast roast. This came with all the trimmings including pigs and blankets and cranberry sauce.

My Turkey Roast

My husband ordered the 7 hour slow cooked rib of beef roast dinner, which came with a merlot and beef dripping sauce as well as all the usual veg. We both ordered an extra Yorkshire pudding, because who doesn’t want more Yorkies hey!

My sister ordered a fabulous looking chicken, leek and mushroom pie and my brother in law a Cajun chicken burger. We all enjoyed our meals as the dogs ran about getting their leads stuck and standing in their own water bowls and it was lovely. The staff were very attentive and enjoyed petting the dogs (apart from one bloke who shouted at them as we were leaving. What a grump!)

We then treated ourselves to desserts. I’ve been craving custard for ages and nowhere seems to do it anymore. Probably as it’s more of a pain than ice cream or just cream. But I spotted an apple and blackberry crumble pie on the menu that came with custard, so even though it was a scorcher of a day, I ordered that whilst everyone else ordered ice cream. And you know what? It was flippin’ delicious…..

So all in all, we really enjoyed our time here. The food was surprisingly good and the dogs had a ball. We would definitely visit again 🥰
