This Ellesmere Port business is located in the same building that ‘The Galley’ was in (see earlier blog post), right by the Manchester Ship Canal and with lovely views of the water. Myself and a friend nipped there for lunch yesterday and as the weather was kind, we sat on a bench outside where we could enjoy the sunshine.
After ordering drinks, we perused the large, but pretty standard menu. The breakfast options were most appealing but we were a few hours too late for eggs so we both went for a steak and cheese ciabatta with onion chutney and fries.

The ciabattas were lovely and the chutney definitely upped the flavour. I’m not sure what cut the steak was, but the chew on it went well with the bread in this instance. As someone who usually eats medium rare steak, I enjoyed this and polished it off easily with my pot of tea.
We then decided to indulge in a piece of cake each. Unfortunately there wasn’t much choice left by this time, but I went for cheesecake and my friend went for chocolate cake. There was also a great selection of ice creams available but I can’t say no to cheesecake.

Overall, it was a lovely few hours dining al fresco. The only disappointment was my friends honeycomb milkshake that had very little flavour. It looked good though 😂
The staff were friendly and accommodating and parking is easy if you’re willing to walk a few metres from the car park. I spied someone having afternoon tea and that looked amazing, so I think when I go back I may have to order that! Yum! I love it when new local businesses pop up, don’t you?
