The Olive Tree, Milton Keynes

My husband started a new job this month. Part of this job will mean him commuting to Milton Keynes every now and again. With his gluten and dairy intolerance he struggled a little with hotel breakfasts and food but came across The Olive Tree on a Google search. This Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant is a small chain and was fabulous at accommodating him.

It was midweek but was still very busy, which is usually a good sign. The menu was huge and immediately reminded him of being in Belek enjoying dinner out after a day in the sunshine. He sent me photos of every course just to make me jealous 🤣

For starters he went with garlic prawns which they adapted to make dairy free. Steve always always chooses the prawn dish so I’m glad they could sort this for him.

Then for mains it was an Adana kebab. One of our favourites. A traditional minced lamb köfte with onion, parsley and Turkish spices, cooked over a charcoal grill. With rice salad and a side of chips. Very authentic and naturally dairy and gluten free.

Turkish food has long been one of our favourite cuisines and Steve really enjoyed his meal here despite being on his own. He is returning to Milton Keynes this week and hopes to visit The Olive Tree again. Just to give me even more food envy 🤣 maybe one day I’ll get to visit myself!
