Bakchich on Bold Street in Liverpool is a Lebanese and Moroccan restaurant that myself and a friend headed pretty much straight for when we arrived in town. I love Lebanese food (I have Lebanese ancestry) and knew my friend would too. We were told there would be a ten minute wait to be seated but we were sat down within five by the friendly staff. This place doesn’t serve alcohol as it’s Halal so we ordered mocktails and began the search through the enormous and decently priced menu.

I chose a Manakeesh Lebanese Zaatar pizza with Halloumi and Chicken. My friend went for a Chicken Pastille. This involved cinnamon spiced chicken wrapped in filo pastry and served with chilli sauce.

The food was so well flavoured and in such enormous portions! My pizza was delicious but I tried the Pastille and wow cinnamon chicken is so tasty. Tahini on chips might be my favourite way to eat them now too! Yum!
We then treated ourselves to dessert too. I went for Baklava because I know I love it, and my friend went for Konafa that I know as Künefe. Sweet cheese and pastry soaked with syrup and served with ice cream. The desserts were nice but dare I say I’ve had better in Turkey 😳 never the less these were a sweet way to end our meal before we continued into town.

Overall I’d give this place a massive thumbs up. Tasty as heck food in massive portions for a decent price. Lovely staff and a nice relaxed ambience. What else could you ask for?
