A new addition to Heswall town centre, the Tahona Bar Taqueria serves up authentic Mexican street food flavours, fabulous cocktails, and a great atmosphere. I popped down on Launch night to enjoy a selection of small plates, not really knowing what to expect…….

I ordered:

•Fish tacos with coconut purée & a mango chilli salsa

•Beyond Mexican Chorizo Tostada with smooth black beans, avocado tomatillo, pickled red onions & coriander

•Corn Elote with smoked chilli Mayo, chipotle powder and queso fresco

The food blew me away to be perfectly honest. So fresh, so delicious and I could have eaten all of it again. Bright, bold flavours, and something a little different too. A sheer delight.

The staff were really welcoming too and turns out I should have taken the husband after all, as it’s all gluten free 😝 chatting to the staff it seemed they’d be more than happy to omit the dairy too so win win and that shows how fresh the food must be and how caring the team are. There’s also an enormous cocktail menu which is always a good thing!
