Nextdoor, Frodsham

Nextdoor, set in a 17th century timber framed building

We enjoyed a beautiful anniversary meal at Nextdoor in Frodsham.
Set in a 17th century timber framed building, it felt very intimate and dare I say romantic. The setting for this restaurant adjoins the owners home so it literally is ‘Nextdoor’ and once housed the owners great grandfather’s butchers shop.

We went for the August tasting menu for £62.50 each :

🥖Selection of Bread + Butter
🥕Carrot, lemongrass + ginger
🥩Beef Fillet, strawberries, pickle, black pepper
🐟Roast Cod, courgette, broad beans
🧅Dry Aged Duck, plum, onion + fennel
🍌Chocolate Bar, banana, white chocolate, tahini caramel

The food was fresh, tasty and Steve’s was happily switched to be gluten and dairy free too.

Bread and butter involved fresh bread, breadsticks, herby butter and mousse
Beef fillet
Dry aged duck
Chocolate bar dessert

I was hooked from the start with an amazingly varied bread and butter course, and by the time I ate the amazing dessert I was an extremely happy lady. Steve adored the duck course, with its side pot of offal and rich plum sauce but I really think dessert was my favourite. I’ve just never had anything like it before!

Thanks guys it was stunning! I am not surprised you’re in the Michelin Guide.
