Welcome to the hidden gem that is Tattenhall Marina in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside, on the Shropshire Union Canal. There’s so much to do here! Myself and a friend were kindly invited down for the day to see what this lovely spot has to offer.
Found tucked away behind the Ice Cream Farm overflow car park, over a single lane bridge, the landscape opens out to a wide watery land of boats, trees and wildlife.
Park up and wander to the Boathouse Cafe. Open every day bar Monday, enjoy stunning food and drink whilst watching the ducks, or monch on an afternoon tea with gloriously tasty cakes. All of the food is fresh and you can find everything from a Full English to a roast dinner.

Hire a narrowboat with your friends and go sailing the waterways. We went for a drive of a hire boat and can imagine what fun it’d be to do this with friends and family. With a thermos and a packed lunch it’s be such an adventure!

You can even do a bit of ‘glamping’ in the luxury floating pods on site. Suitable for two adults and two children, their size is deceiving. Pet friendly pods are available and allow a literal escape to the countryside. Fully equipped and laid out so you can watch the sunrise these are a beautiful addition and would make a great stopover point or weekend getaway.

Besides the beautiful scenery and tranquil setting, there’s also lots to do nearby too. The award winning Ice Cream Farm is right next door and Beeston Castle is a great little walk!
Keep an eye out for some exciting Christmas event announcements. I can’t wait to visit again!
