The Rake Hall, Little Stanney

We had lunch here as a family between Christmas and New Year and it was absolutely heaving with people. Being close to Cheshire Oaks the traffic was pretty awful too, but once in and seated we enjoyed some nice pub grub.

The Rake Hall is a Brunning & Price pub though so we had to leave my husband at home. Whilst being brilliant at providing gluten free menus, they struggle with gluten and dairy together. It’s just not worth it unfortunately.

So, those of us who did go just went for main meals after a very food packed week.

Turkey, Bacon and Brie Ciabatta
Venison Pie
Steak Burger

I went for a hot turkey, bacon and Brie ciabatta with cranberry sauce. Simple but delicious. My brother in law had steak burger with beer onions, grilled pancetta, Monterey Jack cheese, spiced Mayo and chips. Mum went for a Shropshire venison and red wine pie, served with parsnip mash and a wild mushroom and smoked bacon sauce. she loved this. Dad had fish and chips and my sister had the sticky beef salad. No pics of them but the plates were all clean at the end!

So despite being really busy, the food was lovely and our waitress was too. These pubs aren’t the cheapest around but do have some delicious options. For those of us without food allergies at least 😳
