Supporting Small in Cheshire

It’s hard to know what to write about when you aren’t really going out. I have no restaurants to review and takeaways aren’t interesting. So I figured I’d highlight all the little local businesses I’ve been purchasing the loveliest of treats from.

Bax Bees honey

A family run business in Cheshire, they produce honeycomb and a variety of honey as well as lots of other goodies. I ordered some June blossom raw honey (which I totally shouldn’t eat as an immunosuppressed person but YOLO) which I swiftly baked into cookies as well as eating a tonne of on toast. Delish. Find them at http://www.baxbees.co.uk or by clicking here

Little Lodge Confectionery

This award winning chocolatier is based in Chester and I cant stop stalking the Instagram page. I ordered a new product from them for our anniversary- Stix and Dips. Huge milk chocolate sticks and three gorgeous dips to dunk them in. They were delicious and really indulgent. Go check out the gorgeous Christmas stuff here

Crumb

This friendly company are set up in Chester and do deliveries of brownies, blondies, cookie bars and all manner of other baked goods. I have enjoyed both a S’mores cookie tray as well as a duo box of brownies and a caramel apple crumble. So delicious and such friendly people. Delivery is so convenient too. Find their products here

Home Bakes by Charlotte

This lovely lady is only to be found on social media at the minute but is pumping out new products regularly. I first ordered cookie dough bars and these went down an absolute treat. Warmed up, they were ooey gooey and oh so tasty. Then recently she has begun making NYC style cookies so I just had to try them too. They were absolutely enormous but oh so good. Based in Helsby, she is just getting set up to deliver by post but only hand delivers locally at the moment. Find her on Insta and Facebook

Tarts and Co

Now I jumped for joy to find this new business pop up in Little Sutton, literally down the road from me. They produce 100% homemade tarts in a mind boggling array of flavours. Everything from Kir Royal to Toffee apple. I rapidly put an order in for four egg custard tartlettes as they take me back to my childhood and go great with a cuppa. On arrival all I could say was wow as they smelled amazing and tasted even better. I will be ordering again! Find these guys on social media or here

The Best Egg Custards

I’ve honestly had the best time trying out new things and meeting new people. Supporting these businesses at such a weird time is a pleasure and I won’t be stopping. Do you have any North West UK small foodie companies to recommend?
