The Bristol Trader, Haverfordwest

On our recent trip to Pembrokeshire we spent a day in Tenby and Haverfordwest for my birthday. Steve had booked the Bristol Trader online and we ended our day in this pleasant little pub.

There has been an Inn here on the Quay since the 1700’s and is so named as traders from Bristol would stop and moor their boats outside. Now a grade 2 listed building, a recent interior refurb has left it feeling lovely and welcoming. To us and the dogs.

Wanting to celebrate but not being overly hungry we went straight to ordering main meals. Steve went for a 10oz gammon steak with an egg, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, peas and chips. All gluten and dairy free and absolutely humongous! He polished the lot with some help from the dogs.

I went for something a bit different and chose the Dak-Twigim Burger. A crispy and sticky Korean BBQ chicken burger with a citrus cucumber pickle, and an onion and satay sauce. With chips and coleslaw. This was packed with so much flavour and I loved it. Spicy, sticky, sweet and sour all in one. Yum! I love Korean flavours and need to try recreating this one.

The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much effort and we learned about the history of the place from them. The dogs were very well treated and were quite happy to watch us eat and have a little play.

All in all, a lovely place that I’d visit again in a heartbeat. I bet it’s glorious sitting outside on the summer 🥰
