A delicious birthday meal for my husband at @restaurantoxa in Oxton, Wirral. We haven’t been here since summer last year and wanted to try the new menu. We found parking right outside this time which was fabulous, and we sat in the same seats.
We enjoyed a beautiful tasting menu with all Steves allergies catered to that consisted of:

🍗Tempura Chicken Wing
🎣Chalkstream Trout & Dashi Broth
🎃Poached Stone Bass & Spiced Pumpkin
🐖Gloucestershire Old Spot & Parsnip
🥜Smoked Creme Fraiche & Yorkshire Rhubarb
🍫Valrhona Chocolate & Coffee & Hazelnut & Miso
🍊Bread & Butter & Blood Orange
Obviously it’s not all pictured here but I’ve chosen a few of my favourites. The trout is a new dish and was incredibly tasty, the pork was so good I ate it in record time, and I would literally die for the bread and butter pudding.
I even had a cheeky glass of wine!
The staff were great as usual. This is a @chef_andrew_sheridan restaurant with food by @jake12smi12_chef and I’m not surprised it’s in the @michelinguide as it’s fabulous. We will be back next time the menu changes!

What a delightful birthday celebration! The tasting menu sounds absolutely exquisite, with such a creative mix of flavors and textures. That bread and butter pudding must have been heavenly if it’s worth dying for! 🍞🍊 It’s always a treat when a restaurant not only delivers amazing food but also caters to dietary needs so thoughtfully.
